Redskins baby Zoie's first trip to the dentist

A dental visit at an early age is a “well baby checkup” for the teeth.

Redskins linebacker, Lorenzo Alexander, brought in his daughter Zoie to show parents how to care for their children’s teeth.  Teaching children good dental habits at a young age reduces the fear of going to the dentist and creates a lifetime of healthy smiles.

Little Zoie did very well at her first visit to the dentist.  She eagerly sat on her daddy’s lap and let us clean her teeth and give her a checkup.  Zoie was excited  to go to the office toy chest afterwards and pick out a prize for her good behavior.  She learned that going to the dentist can be fun and something to look forward to, not the other way around.  Zoie even smiled big for our camera and  posed for a family photo.

Taking  good care of your child’s teeth is important because even baby teeth help a child chew food and speak clearly.  Baby teeth also hold space so the permanent teeth will come in straight.  Help your children maintain a lifelong healthy smile by providing them with a well-balanced diet, limiting snacks,  making sure they brush twice a day, floss once a day and scheduling regular dental checkups for them.
