McLean Salon Sat., Sept. 24 to Auction Off a Day on ‘Happily Divorced’ Set with Fran Drescher

Salon Daniel of McLean, Va., the premiere hair salon sponsor for the upcoming Becky’s Fund “Walk This Way” Fashion Show, will host red-carpet auctions on Sat., Sept. 24 at Salon Daniel from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. kicking off their 20-year anniversary celebration. The salon, which has serviced more than 30,000 clients in 20 years, is marking this 20-year milestone by thanking their clients and giving back to the community by featuring two auctions. The live auction benefits Fran Drescher’s non-profit organization, Cancer Schmancer, and includes one special auction entry: a day on set with Fran Dresher at her new television show, Happily Divorced, with a starting bid price of $15, 000.  Also, several beauty packages will be presented at a silent auction that directly benefits Becky’s Fund, a non-profit organization focused on domestic and dating violence awareness and education. Refreshments and food will be served. For more information call 703-893-5000 or visit www.salondaniel.com.

Silent auction items to benefit Becky’s Fund will include:  an Ultimate Day of Beauty Package to include a facial, massage, manicure and pedicure, wash and blow-dry, makeup application and lunch, at a total value of $430; a Girls Night Out Beauty Package valued at $500 with a manicure, massage, wash and blow-dry, makeup application; and many more. They will also raffle off a Salon Daniel gift bag containing Daniel Bechara’s (owner of Salon Daniel) hair product line, valued at $100. Guests attending the party will receive $20 gift cards to be used on any service of their choice. Refreshments will be provided including food from neighborhood McLean restaurants like Sweetleaf and Greek Taverna, while Windows Catering will provide pastries.

The Becky’s Fund Walk This Way Fashion Show is scheduled for Wed., Nov. 2 at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C, inviting celebrity guests. They’ll be featuring hair and fashion from different eras. Salon Daniel is the sole hair salon sponsor that will be styling 20 models hair during the fashion show, and will also be providing 300 VIP gift bags containing hair care items for fashion show guests. In honor of their 20 anniversary, Salon Daniel will be offering 20 percent off haircuts for all new clients and with an additional 20 percent donated to Becky’s Fund, valid from Sept. 20 through Dec. 31, 2011.

We’re so grateful to our clients who’ve been part of our salon family for the past 20 years. This event is about thanking our clients and our community, which is why we’re happy to support two important organizations, Cancer Schmancer and Becky’s Fund. One of our favorite clients, Fran Drescher, has been getting the word out about early detection of cancer through the non-profit, Cancer Schmancer, and we’re excited to offer a unique auction item for one of our lucky guests to spend the day with her.

After surviving her own experience with cancer, actress/activist visionary, Fran Drescher decided to share her story so that what happened to her wouldn’t happen to others. After writing her book, Cancer Schmancer, she realized the book was not the end, but instead the beginning of a life mission to improve women’s healthcare in America. Shortly thereafter, she founded The Cancer Schmancer movement, a non-profit dedicated to saving women’s lives through early detection of cancer. One in every three women will be diagnosed with cancer in her lifetime. Go to www.cancerschmancer.org or call 888-621-2001.

Becky’s Fund is a national non-profit organization based in Washington, DC dedicated to domestic and dating violence (DV) awareness and prevention. The mission of Becky’s Fund is to foster awareness of domestic violence, to encourage advocacy among peers, to promote activism through outreach programs and to create support for victims.
