FCPS Wins Fifteen Awards in NSPRA's Publications and Electronic Media Contest

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) has received fifteen awards from the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) in its 2011 Publications and Electronic Media Contest. 

Winning Awards of Excellence were the Give Me Five! public service announcement, promoting five ways to partner with FCPS; the 2010-11 FCPS Handbook; the 2010 Leadership Conference program; A Community Working Together for Education, an informational publication for the Foundation for Fairfax County Public Schools; and the Institute for the Arts course catalog.

Winning Awards of Merit were the Give Me Five! website; the Smart! public service announcement campaign; the 2011 Career and Technical Education calendar; “First Four Presidents of the United States,” a marketing poster for a channel 21 video; and the Give Me Five! Conference Presence, a retractable banner and display stand.

Honorable Mentions went to the ERFC (Educational Employees’ Supplementary Retirement System of Fairfax County) 2010 Comprehensive Annual Report; “Innovation Begins Here!”, a poster to engage secondary school students to participate in the Fairfax County science fair; the Apprenticeship Course Offerings catalog; Building the Future…Child by Child, a recruitment folder for the Department of Human Resources; and the Service Learning brochure and poster.

FCPS’ television programs, which air on Red Apple 21, and public service announcements—which air on Red Apple 21 and Cox cable television stations—are produced by Fairfax County Public Schools. 

Nearly 800 entries were submitted from school districts around the country. Awards of Excellence were presented to 85 entries; Awards of Merit to 154 entries; and Honorable Mentions to 152 entries.
